Reading through these memories it is clear that we only knew Dawn recently, as a sunny neighbour and hopefully friend. In that time she showed us great kindness and listened to our chatter , asked about our sons, laughed at our jokes and we always felt uplifted by her sunlight-filled smile. Amazed by the bravery and positivity over the last year. We will miss her.

My gorgeous Auntie Dawn - full of kindness, fun & fizz! I remember first meeting you as a little girl & thinking you were a true princess - the most beautiful bride I ever saw. I’ll take your smile that lit up the room with me & the lesson that “the most wasted of all days is one without laughter ‘. ❤️

I was very fortunate to have Dawn as my older sister. She was always very protective of me when we were growing up and her advice was always sensible and came straight from the heart. I don't ever remember having an argument with Dawn and I cannot remember her saying anything negative about anyone. I always respected Dawn for her work ethic and I know that she always gave far more than she took. It is hard to believe that she is no longer here.

We have lovely memories of Dawn a natural hostess with a talent for making everyone feel welcome and at home. We vividly recall meeting on a cool and wet river bank in Durham watching Gabbie row herself silly, with Dawn shouting her encouragement as the proud mum she was. On another occasion while on a break in Chester and visiting the Maxfield’s, Dawn being still at work, left Kevin with strict instructions of what to provide for lunch and to keep us well fuelled in beverages (alcoholic of course) we will always remember our last meeting with her sitting in the sun on a balcony in Whitby sharing a lovely afternoon with Kevin, Rosina and Joseph. Dawn a lovely lady who we will always remember with deep affection.

So glad we got in touch after a long time. Loved our chats on Facebook, catching up, the laughs you and l had. Sorry it was short lived Dawn....... you will be a special angel who will reach out to everyone ✨️.........

We always looked forward to getting together with Dawn and Kevin either on their own or with the rest of the brothers and wives and now we realise - why didn't we do it more often. Especially as Dawn was always great company (Kevin wasn't bad either). She was funny, bubbly, had an interesting take on things, was always a good listener and a joy to be with. God bless, Dawn. Will always remember you, so caring and kind. Those shared family holidays, The Maxfields and The Bramwells, Centre Parc, Spain, France are a large part of my formative years. Enjoyed so many family get togethers and you were fun, classy and just lovely. Keep dancing Dawn.

Our memories of Dawn are many. A neighbour who became a wonderful, loving friend. She was a feisty, beautiful northern lass who was always smiling and we were so fortunate to have known her and spend many happy hours together over a drink or 3! She was full of fun and as my official street party organiser helped me in bringing the neighbours together to share some joy after the difficult covid times. I'll always remember her looking very elegantly royal in her tiara at the King's Coronation street party and, for such a petite lady, tucking into a huge plate of pie and mash at our pie and pint evening. Dawn loved a pie. A glamorous lady with a beautiful soul who was taken far too early and will be greatly missed. Charlotte, Jos and Jake xx

First met Dawn 45 years ago late September 1978. We became firm friends studying, living and partying at College. Over the years we shared holidays and life’s milestones going on to marry our partners in the same year, having our children. All the time continuing to share fun time and so much laughter and joy. So many good memories of a beautiful person, inside and out. She was loyal, always there when needed, so hard working and generous. I will miss her every day. Goodbye dear friend and thank you for being you. X

Dawn was an amazing Auntie. I remember when I was little, Dawn lived in a really old house with a cellar. We were visiting on Halloween, and even though she was at work all day, she went to a huge effort to decorate the cellar with skeletons, cobwebs, bobbing apples. I remember being so excited because we were not expecting anything like that and it was so much fun. Dawn always found the time to think about others even when she was so busy with work. She always made us feel special when we visited as children and I always looked forward to visiting. We will all miss her very much.

Dawn was so warm, full of joy, positivity and fun. She always saw the best in people and situations. Whoever she was talking to, she made them feel so special. She brought me joy. She made me laugh. I will miss her so much, but as my daughter Katie said, she'll still make you laugh mum, eveytime you think of her. And she will. 💕💕

I remember when Dawn gave me her tiara after her wedding when I was very young. It was a generous gift, and it meant a lot to me at the time. It was one of my earliest memories. She was such a kind, generous woman. I won’t ever forget her.

A true friend has left this Earth but will never leave our hearts I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a true friend , a bright light sadly gone but will never be forgotten x
